Kinda like the Smith vs Zwick

Henton all the way.

I haven't seen enough of them to make a decision yet. I'm sure spring practices and the spring game will tell us a lot.

I/We haven't seen them enough to make a comment. I let Tress chose, and hopefully he will be right.

From the sounds of things, Henton has been VERY impressive so far. In my head though, I just can't se JT going with a red shirt Frosh over guys that have been in the system for a full 2 and 3 years.

I think it will be hard to beat Boeckman considering his time in the offense. He has looked decent in mop-up time.

I wonder if Shoenhoft won't be odd man out at OSU. I would tend to agree with the majority of you that Todd will probably be hard to beat out and then Henton would replace him.
It is just a crapshoot at this point but I love to hear reports from "insiders"....

I'd love to see a 4 yr starter here at tOSU, how awesome would that be!

The only prob with Henton in imo is the inevitible comparisons he will always recieve between him and Smith... Not a very envitible position following the greatest OSU quarterback ever...

Zwick as an 8th year senior

I think it's very unlikely that we get by without a loss or two next year no matter who starts. If one of the three of them clearly steps out in front of the other two between now and next fall, go with him. Otherwise, if there is no clear separation among the three, just start Henton, accept the fact that he might be the cause of a loss or two, and prepare for the future.

I would Love to see Henton actually play, anyone have a free video of the kid?

I gotta agree with Drnlaw on this one.

If it is even close, I feel you have to go with Henton. If he is close to Boeckman and Schoenhoft after one year, given their respective time in the program, he obviously has a much higher ceiling.

Even the most delusional fan should expect at least a loss or two next year, so I feel you have to go with the QB who has the higher ceiling. Henton would mature quickly under fire.

If Boeckman is way ahead, however, obviously go with him.

I, like a lot of posters, see Schoenhoft as the odd man out.

I can see us losing to both Wisky and Michigan (IF both Hart and Henne come back) 10-2 wouldn't be hidious...

Sets us up real nice for 2008... USC would be breaking in a new QB

Don't sleep on at Purdue and at Penn State. I'm not totally sure on who is returning from either of these teams, but I think they both return a pretty good amount. PSU returns their QB, their WR's, Austin Scott will be back from an injury. Defensively, they're always good. PU returns Painter, their RB (name is escaping me), and Lymon. That's an explosive offense.

There is alot of hope that Henton is the next Troy Smith, but there are only a few who have any information on him. All three are big, mobile, quarterbacks. Boeckman has good arm strength. Schoenoft has a gun. I personally think Schoenoft will be the man. He has great footwork and size. Without, seeing Henton I believe Schoenoft has the best potential. If he has an outstanding off season, Schoenoft could be a pleasant suprise. The thing that is remarkable about Boeckman is that he came out the sametime as Brady Quinn and will only be a junior. He has so much experience in the system. He has go to feel comfortable.
We will know alot more during the spring game draft. The quarterback that gets picked first is most likely the one showing up a practice. Even when Zwick was the man, T. Smith was drafted first. The team knew something then. It will be fun and interesting to see who steps up. I think we will be in good shape at QB.

Mark it down, Boeckman will open the 2007 as our starting QB.

I have heard everything across the spectrum about Henton. Gut feeling is that I just don't see it happening for him next year. From everything we heard about him though as a senior in Georgia though, the prospects are good in the future. As far as next year, we dont' have the hardest OOC schedule, but in conference we have those pesky at PSU and at UM games along with the Wisconsin game making the prospects of 10 wins difficult.

It's funny to me that some folks want Henton, Henton, Henton. We've never seen him compete at the collegiate level.

I'm pulling for him, but I'll reserve judgment until the Spring Game.

Boeckman will probably start out of the gate, but the first or second time he slips up people are going to be calling for Henton. Then the real debate will begin.

Having said that, Henton was very impressive in his high school films during the playoffs. Very impressive.

Boeckman is the steady guy that doesn't take risks.
Schoenhoft is the riverboat gambler.
Henton is the wildcard in all of this.

I really think its hard to decide who the QB will be next year. It depends who performs well in practice and proves them selfs in practice.

I never really want to see a four year starter. That's almost guaranteed to indicate that the program was in a bit of disarray and that the cupboard was a bit bare.

I agree with your point preparing for the future. But I think that Henton will have to be clearly better than TB and RS to start in front of them. JT likes his upperclassmen and if all 3 QBs are close to even bet on TB RS and AH in this order.

I think a lot of us, myself included, are hoping that Henton can be a clone of Troy if not better. But history seems to show that Coach Tressel will go with the older guys. Its a tough call though.

Does anyone have vids of these guys in action, beucase the only playing time i have seen was the very limited time that they got this year in one or two games.

All with different talents. But I believe that if Henton can do the job than JT will not hesitate to make him the starter. If it's going to happen it won't be until middle of the season with starting QB struggling.

Boeckman should start, Robbie is closing in though. Regardless we have two
good QB's to operate an offense that will be unstoppable.

Boeckman will be the starter to begin 2007 due to his time in the system. However I like A.H. speeeed and R.S. ARM.Trust In Tressel to make the right choice.

Todd is gonna start.....and yeah we can go undefeated next year and that will only happen if Todd plays clutch like Booty or Jason White or Matt Lenhart who had zero experience when he won his first championship. The key is the O-coordinator not going back to his predictable 2004 play calling roots. Too much talent to not go undefeated next year......... Michigan Loses a ton of guys, Purdue is soft, Wisconsin will be a game, and PSU will be tough......
