So did the entire Bucknuts crew come over or did some stay behind with the Scout network version?

Welcome to the new Bucknuts.com!

I imagine if you have made it this far, you have probably survived the registration process for our new site.

We understand this was an abrupt change. However, the decision for us to leave the Scout.com network was not one we took lightly.

I know you probably have a lot of questions. Let me ask you to be patient, take a deep breath and we’ll all get through this.

Change is sometimes very scary, and this instance is no exception for us.

I want to say first and foremost how much we value each and every premium customer we have as well as every loyal Ohio State fan who takes the time to just lurk on our message boards and/or view our free news content.

We hope this move will allow us to take our site – and, frankly, our business – to greater heights.

Because we value our longtime customers, we are positioned to honor all subscriptions purchased for Bucknuts.com under the Scout umbrella. In most cases, we should have your current expiration date. If your subscription is current with us, you should not have to do anything but register to be able to read premium content and participate on the premium boards (and read the new Buckeye Grove column).

For those whose subscriptions will lapse soon or those who would like to subscribe to the new site – and this would apply to all of our old monthly customers – we have set up two levels of membership. A monthly subscription is $7.95 with an annual subscription now $79.95.

In terms of Bucknuts The Magazine, none of our new subscriptions will include the magazine – at least for the time being. Those who purchased Bucknuts annual subscriptions or magazine subscriptions under the Scout umbrella should still continue to receive that magazine as always.

In fact, we will continue to provide editorial content for that magazine – at least for the time being. Any questions you may have regarding the magazine subscription, please direct those to Scout.

To be honest, the feedback we have received through the years is that our business is primarily local – our content on OSU athletics and recruiting and the great community we have built on our message boards.

Moreover, it is our aim to maintain the same high level of coverage we have had with Ohio State football, football recruiting, basketball and OSU athletics in general.

As the days and weeks go by, it is our plan to once again post our own video clips of recruits as well as of OSU team activities.

As we have noted for the last few days, we have some big things planned in the days ahead, including:

* Coverage of the state football playoffs.

* The announcement of the ONN/Ohio High All-Ohio team and player and coach of the year.

* A Chat Friday at 3 p.m. with myself as well as one Monday with Duane Long, Tuesday with Dave Biddle, Wednesday with Doug Donley of Buckeye Legends, Thursday with Gary Housteau and next Friday with NevadaBuck (see, we’ve kept the core of the team intact).

* Complete coverage of the recruiting visits this weekend.

* And more special features we have planned.

So, once again, thanks for joining us at the new Bucknuts.com. We appreciate your patronage and hope you will find that Bucknuts.com remains one of the best college sports fan web sites in the country!

Steve and all the rest of the Bucknuts staff:

I want to applaud your movement back to being an independent site. I had basically no use for Scout.com. Although not a frequent poster, I have been with Bucknuts from very nearly the beginning and have grown to appreciate the information and content put forth by you and the Bucknuts team. Good luck with the new venture and rest assured I will continue to check this site a few times a day, wherever in the world I might be at the time.

I appreciate the push for more Buckeyes coverage, but part of the reason I joined Bucknuts was the access to the Scout coverage of recruits. I assume this will be completely localized and the coverage of recruits outside of OSU will be minimal.

I don't want to get into the logistics of the move, but this is a huge hit if you are losing that coverage, although Scout recruit coverage was pretty subpar, which, I'm sure, is one of the reasons why you guys left.

Can we start a post padding thread so we can all catch up to where we were? Just kidding...that would take Heater forever!

Hey, nice new digs.

Might take us a while to get the old crowd back, though, since you have to reregister (at least I did).

Will Scout still bill me 9.95 per month if I don't cancel over there, or was my subscription through Bucknuts?

I am also curious, if I have to cancel my subscription through insiders, or will it be transferred, and glad to see Nevada will be here, because without him and it might have been a tough decision!

I have the same question as pville. I'm paying that automatic monthly $9.95 to scout. Are they going to stop that or do I need to? Do I need to start paying Bucknuts.com, or will it pick up automatically?

This is really pissing me off!!!! I subscribed to Bucknuts because I wanted info from certain insiders. I have paid my subscription fee and now you move.

That I don't have a problem with, however, I can't freaking log onto the premium board here even though I was told I would have access to the info from the insiders that I paid to receive.

I have sent private messages and sent emails and still am not able to access the info I have paid for!!!!!

Ah, in the Junk mail folder.

Thx USN for the tip on the Junk mail folder. I found mine there as well. My email is through hotmail. I'm suspecting other users with hotmail accounts are probably having the same problem.
